Light Up A Life

Keep your memories burning bright

Light Up A Life are our special remembrance services held in December every year. The services incorporate our Book of Remembrance, which is inscribed with the names of loved ones for a life-long tribute.

With carols, live music and readings our Christmas services are an opportunity to remember and celebrate those we have lost.

They are free and open to everyone, whatever their faith.

Light Up A Life services 2017:

  • Salvation Army, Staple Hill, Sunday 3 December at 5pm
  • Bristol Cathedral, Tuesday 5 December at 5.45pm
  • Brentry Hospice, Saturday 9 December at 3pm (Places for this service are very limited. Please book your place by calling 01275 391 400).
  • Counterslip Baptist Church, Tuesday 12 December at 6.30pm

The Book of Remembrance

The Book of Remembrance is a very special way to commemorate your loved ones.

Our skilled calligrapher inscribes their name into the Book, creating a permanent record in your loved one's memory. The Book is available to view after each Light Up A Life service and will be blessed at the Cathedral service.

Each leather-bound volume is kept at the Hospice, where you are always welcome to arrange a private viewing.

This year, we are also introducing a digital version of the Book which will be available on our website from Monday 4th December.

We light candles at each service to signify the names in this special Book, so even if you are unable to attend, their memory will be captured in candle light.
