Grief Support Group for Adults

Grief Support Group for Adults

Our grief support group for adults is a drop in session meeting at the Hospice in Brentry. It is run by a psychological therapist from our Emotional and Psychological Support Team, for people who have lost a loved one who was cared for by St Peter's Hospice.

We meet every Tuesday 1.30pm-3.00pm (please arrive for 1.30pm start), from Tuesday 7 May onwards.

The sessions are designed to help you consider your own experiences in grief, and what you are learning from them. There will be space to talk about the emotional pain of grief, a 'different normal' and suggestions for different ways grief can affect you.

We will consider how you might support yourself, look at the networks of support available, and the inner acts of focusing, breathwork, grounding and journalling.

There are five areas in our large spacious room. Area 1 is a relaxed seating area for chat and refreshments. Area 2 is a small discussion group facilitated by a psychological therapist. Area 3 is a creative area to explore your grief. Area 4 is a check in space for the inner act of focusing. Area 5 is a walking and talking space in our beautiful gardens.

They are stand-alone sessions, so you can choose to attend just one session or as many as you would like.

You are welcome to turn up on the day, but we would also appreciate an idea of numbers in advance where possible. You can complete the form below or call 0117 915 9454, 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, please do leave a message.

Please check this page on the day of your visit in case of any cancellations.
