Everyone living with a progressive life limiting illness deserves the best possible care and support, regardless of their religion or belief, sex, race, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership. Each individual brings with them a unique set of needs and their care should reflect this.
Research has highlighted time and again that sadly there are many barriers that may prevent people from marginalised groups receiving the end of life care they need.
Everyone at St Peter's Hospice is committed to proactively trying to reduce these inequalities by building strong and lasting partnerships with our communities to inform and action change.
We are proud to support our richly diverse communities. We know that it is only by working together and learning from each other that we can address the barriers that some people face accessing end of life care and support.
We are actively committed to being inclusive to everyone from all backgrounds and to creating positive change, both within our services and as an employer, to ensure everyone feels welcomed.
We recognise that this is a journey. Every day we need to check in and make sure we are being true to the principles of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, both as an employer and service provider.
