There are so many ways that you can raise vital funds for the Hospice, even from your living rooms and back gardens, including collecting sponsorship, holding a virtual event, or collecting up some spare cash to fundraise for Madmess.
Your entry fee covers the costs of your event pack, which means we need your donations, fundraising and sponsorship to support our patients and make a difference for families across greater Bristol. We’re asking that everyone aim for a fundraising target of £25, and we’re here to help every step of the way!
Print out one of our posters to tell your community what you’re doing and how they can help you fundraise to hit your target:
The easiest way to start fundraising is to set up an online giving page like JustGiving. You can make your page here, it’s quick to set up and you can personalise it with photos, updates and your story of what you’re doing and why. Plus all the money kindly donated to your page comes directly to the Hospice without you having to do anything or chase anyone for cash - perfect!
Share your page on social media to spread the word to all your friends and family about your messy challenge.
Download a sponsorship form to collect support from friends, family and neighbours, you can get pledges for support now and then collect the cash from everyone later in the year when you next see them.
And don’t forget to gift aid it! Ask your sponsors to fill in their home address and tick the gift aid box on the sponsorship form and on your online giving page. If we can claim gift aid we get an extra 25%! Just think, if you raise £100 and everyone ticked the box then you’ve actually raised £125 for us.
Download our Madmess collection box to collect up your loose change. Print it out, decorate and colour it in to collect your change after each shop, or add in to it the amount that you would have usually spent on your morning coffee, a round of drinks or a gym class every week. You’ll be surprised how quickly it adds up!
Hold a virtual quiz night for friends and family. Go live on Facebook or invite everyone to join you on an online program like Skype or Zoom and ask for a donation to your JustGiving page to take part. There are loads of quiz questions available to download online or you can put your own together. Or if you’re not a fan of a pub quiz how about holding a virtual bingo instead.
Just because you’re working from home doesn’t mean you can’t have a fancy dress Friday! Get your colleagues to dress up or wear a funky hat in return for a donation - make sure they send a photo of their outfit or if it’s a day with a team Skype meeting scheduled in that’s even better.
There are lots of ways that you can get your wonderful sponsorship money into us. If you’ve fundraised through an online giving page like JustGiving then it will come to us automatically without you having to do anything at all! You can also pay it straight to us through our website and let us know that it’s your sponsorship money, or you can also send us a cheque to the Long Ashton office.
