World Cancer Day

“I was diagnosed with cancer in September, and it swept my world from underneath my feet. I was looking for answers. Why me? Why this?”

“A community nurse suggested Day Service at St Peter’s Hospice to me. I came with an open mind and I haven’t looked back. It’s always a positive atmosphere here. Cancer and death aren’t forbidden subjects.”

Simon, Day Hospice Patient

“I’ve taken part in relaxation therapy and spiritual care, as well as arts and crafts, as much as my talent allows me to!”

“The Hospice has been fantastic – I’d have been at a loss without it.”

Many of our patients have cancer, but we try to help all of them find quality of life. #WorldCancerDay

Weather update: Friday 1 February

Weather update for patient services and shops, Friday 1 February

Day Hospice is cancelled today; all patients affected were personally informed yesterday.

All other services are running as usual.

Staff have been excellent and all Inpatient Unit staff have turned up for work as expected. We have also had the help of an amazing volunteer driver with a 4×4 for people who live in difficult to reach places.

The St Peter’s Hospice Shops in Chipping Sodbury, Thornbury, Winterbourne and Pill have unfortunately been unable to open today. We apologise for any inconvenience to our customers and donors. We expect all of our high street shops to be open tomorrow, Saturday 2 February.

Many thanks to all our staff and volunteers for their efforts, and to all our supporters for their patience.
