What`s better than a healthy and sustainable ride to start your day followed by a delicious home made piece of cake? Cycle to work Day is a national event aiming to encourage everyone to take to two wheels and cycle to work for at least one day.
Cycling to work is not only a good way to save on public transport or personal travelling expenses, it`s a positive habit that improves your life, boosts your mood and makes you feel better. Did you know that with its 50,000 car commuters travelling to the city each day Bristol is the most congested city in the country? (Bristol Post – August 17, 2015)
According to the census date, 760,000 people in the UK cycle to work regularly; Cycle to Work Day is aiming for 1 million by 2021. At Paintworks there are over 50 companies with hundreds employees commuting each day by car; they are aiming to see if they can take a few cars off of the streets on 3 September.
So, why don`t you pledge to Ride to Work on National Cycle to Work Day on Thursday 3rd September and pop into SustainIt’s office at Unit 4.2 Paintworks for a cup of tea and a luscious piece of home made cake?
All riders get free cake and for those of you who don’t ride in they are collecting donations for St Peter’s Hospice so please feel free to drop in and give a donation for St Peter’s.
