Professional placements

At St Peter’s Hospice we welcome requests from qualified healthcare professionals who would like an opportunity to understand hospice life and discover what palliative care entails. The knowledge and understanding gained means together we can offer a more comprehensive service to help with the complex problems patients may present.

  • We typically offer placements to a range of professionals including nurses, social workers, varying grades of doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists
  • We can organise placements ranging from a day’s experience in a specific clinical area to two weeks providing a wider experience across all clinical areas, tailored to your specific aims and objectives, depending on our capacity to accommodate a placement at the time requested
  • We will also consider elective placements for student nurses

Each placement is designed to give an overview of the services within the Hospice. However in order to identify any individual learning needs please indicate on the list below, the areas which are of a special interest to you. We will try to accommodate some or all of your requests.
