In this fascinating talk, Charles Dowding shares no dig gardening methods in aid of the Hospice
Charles Dowding has practised No Dig vegetable gardening methods for over 35 years. In this fascinating illustrated talk on 26 March 2019 at The Space in Keynsham, Charles will describe how to create healthy soil and enjoy easier harvests, followed by questions and answers.
No dig gardening will likely appeal to vegetable, organic and allotment growers. Topics covered in the one hour and 20 minute talk will include maintaining a plot more easily, clearing perennial weeds with mulches, keeping your no dig soil healthy and weed free with an annual mulch of compost, tips on hoeing and hand weeding, buying and using different composts. And of the many illustrations, photos show the comparisons of growth between digging and not digging, the results are amazing.
Light refreshments will be on offer before and after the talk without charge, though optional small donations may be offered to St Peter's Hospice. Raffle tickets will also be on sale. One of the prizes on offer will be a voucher for a one day course at Charles' garden in Alhampton, near Castle Cary, Somerset which he has very kindly agreed to donate.
After the talk Charles will offer a selection of his nine books, signed and for sale.Charles Dowding frequently writes in national gardening magazines and newspaper gardening columns, appears on television gardening programmes as well as running No Dig courses at his garden near Castle Cary in Somerset.
Proceeds of this talk will be donated to St. Peter's Hospice, Bristol. The talk starts at 7.30pm and will last until 9.30pm. Doors open at 6.30pm.
