Light up a Life - Bristol Cathedral
You are invited to join our Light up a Life remembrance services this December
With carols, live music and readings from staff and volunteers, our Light up a Life Christmas services are an opportunity to remember and celebrate those we have lost.
They are free and open to everyone, whatever your faith.
To help us organise the seating please let us know which service you are attending by contacting us on 01275 391 430 or emailing email@example.com.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports our Light up a Life, which enables us to provide care and support to the Hospice’s patients and their families throughout the festive period.
For example, £32.33 will pay for one hour of care for a patient on Christmas Day in our Inpatient Unit, or £61 will allow a Healthcare Assistant from our Hospice at Home team to provide four hours of care in a patient‘s own home.
The service begins at 5.45pm
The Book of Remembrance
As part of our Light up a Life events we are a offering a very special way to remember your loved ones, by adding their names to our Book of Remembrance.
Our skilled calligrapher inscribes their names into the book, creating a permanent record in your loved ones’ memory. The book is available to view after each Light up a Life service and then stored at the Hospice in Brentry from Thursday 14 December.
You are welcome to arrange a private viewing any time throughout the year by contacting our Brentry reception on 0117 915 9400.
This year we are introducing a digital version of the book that will be available to view on our website from Monday 4 December.
We light candles at each service to signify the names in the book, so even if you are unable to attend, their memory will be captured in candlelight.
To have an entry made in the book select Light up a Life on our donation page, enter your loved one’s name and make a secure donation with your card. Alternatively, call us on 01275 391400.
Entries must be received by Sunday 26 November. Any entries received after this date will be added to the book in January.
