CASE STUDY: Hewlett Packard

The staff at HP Bristol chose St Peter’s Hospice as their nominated charity for the second time in 2007.

A range of staff fundraising activities were planned, engaging staff which included:

Christmas market
Tuck shop
Six Nations Rugby Sweepstake
Buskers
HP ‘Lovely Legs’ calendar
Scrap heap challenge
Sale of coffee beans (donated by Satbucks)
Raffles

Other initiatives included:

'Don't bin it! Bag it!' appeal

The Bristol HP site collected 127 full bags of unwanted items from staff - at an average value of £25 per bag!! This proved so successful that HP now have their very own St Peter’s clothing recycling bank on site.

Gifts in kind

HP helped us with the purchase of laptops for our Community Nurse Specialists for use whilst visiting patients in their homes to update records. They were able to advise us on what we needed to ensure a high level of security, ease of carrying and saved St Peter’s £1000’s of pounds – money which could then be spent on direct patient care.
