St Peters Hospice has always had a strong commitment to education for its own staff and for staff caring for dying people in other settings.
The education department has been an established centre for provision of palliative care education for over 30 years and is recognised both locally and regionally for its expertise in providing education that is current and aimed at developing clinical practice.
Providing care for people living with life limiting illness can pose many challenges for practitioners. We believe it is important to equip people with knowledge and skills to help them feel confident when providing care.
We are a small but talented group of teachers who are enthusiastic and passionate about palliative care and education. As a team we have many years experience in providing education to meet the needs of individuals and teams from a wide variety of health and social care settings.
We strive to build on the existing knowledge and experience of practitioners to further develop their skills and confidence to enable them to respond effectively to the diverse and often complex needs of patients and their families.
We offer a range of learning opportunities from study days to higher education modules as well as tailor made courses to meet your specific needs.
