10 reasons to take part in The Midnight Walk

Not decided? Here are 10 reasons for taking part in The Midnight Walk...

1. 10 or 5 miles might seem like a long way but think of the exercise. Plan some training prior to the event to boost your confidence and you’ll soon feel great and might even loose a few pounds along the way!

2. It’s a great night out. Meet your friends for a pre-walk meal and then head to Ashton Gate (the home of Bristol City FC) to soak up the party atmosphere and enjoy the entertaining mass warm up.

3. If you like a good natter you’ll have all night to catch up with your friends.

4. The route is a fantastic opportunity to appreciate the night time magic of Bristol – the twinkling lights of the Clifton Suspension Bridge, hear the lions roar as you pass Bristol Zoo, pass the harbourside and SS Great Britain before receiving a warm welcome back at Ashton Gate.

5. If you love dressing up, why not think up a theme and walk in fancy dress with friends and family? Costumes bring life and colour to the event and you’re bound to make the other walkers smile. You might even find your costumes in one of St Peter’s Hospice 46 charity shops throughout the region. To find your local St Peter's Hospice shop click here...>

6. Is your workplace looking for a team night out? The walk is a great way to have fun, share friendship and camaraderie, and raise money for a local charity at the same time.

7. If you don’t do it, you’ll be missing out on one of the best and most exciting charity events in Bristol.

8. You don’t have to walk! We also need volunteers (including men) on the night to help set up the course; registration, marshalling, driving and other jobs, just call us to find out how you can help!

9. Your sponsorship money will ensure that St Peter’s Hospice can continue to care for local people with terminal illnesses (usually cancer) in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, completely free of charge!

10. Because you never know when you might need St Peter’s Hospice help.
