We are delighted to see the publication of this document from the Department of Health, which reflects the importance of people being able to die in the setting they choose.

 

Chief Executive Sandie Foxall-Smith said, “The focus at St Peter’s has always been to allow the patient be cared for in their preferred place of choice, whether that is in the familiar surroundings of their own home or within one of our two hospice buildings, at Knowle and Brentry.”

 

“Our teams of Community Nurse Specialists already work closely with GPs and district nurses and other agencies in Bristol to enable this to happen.”

St Peter's announces new Chief Executive Print E-mail

Sandie Foxall-SmithBristol’s St Peter’s Hospice is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive Sandie Foxall-Smith.

 

Mrs Foxall-Smith joins the city’s hospice from her previous role as Director of Clinics for Circle Health, and takes over from Malcolm Fellowes-Freeman who is leaving St Peter’s after over twelve years in the post.

 

Mrs Foxall-Smith has worked for some time in Bristol, and was a General Manager for Spire Healthcare (formerly BUPA Hospitals), managing their BUPA Hospital in Bristol from 1997 to 2007.

Over a hundred people turned out to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Bristol's St Peter's Hospice for a one-of-a-kind photograph!

 

The event at Millennium Square was part of the Hospice's birthday celebrations.

Charity of the YearWe were delighted to hear that St Peter’s Hospice was named as Charity of the Year in the Evening Post’s Business Awards 2008.

 

It was a double celebration as our Chairman Keith Bonham also won the Lifetime achievement award.

St Peter’s Hospice has been chosen as the local charity for the Reebok Bristol Half Marathon, and we need your support to help us raise £100,000 to fund 3 more Hospice at Home Nurses, who will provide 24 hour care to patients at home in their last days.
