Local Lotto makes it a Happy New Year !
One lucky St Peter's Hospice supporter had a great start to 2010 when she had a call from Bristol’s only adult hospice to say she had won 1st prize of a £1,000 in their Local Lotto.
Kate Pointon (58) from Finch Road, Chipping Sodbury who has been a supporter of the charity since 1999 said: “I was so surprised to get the call, what a lovely start to the New Year. I was planning to take my daughter and her family away for a short break to Devon in half term, so this money will pay for us to have a lovely holiday. St Peter’s Hospice is especially close to my heart as they cared for my aunt and are a local charity that needs our support. I have known so many people who have suffered from cancer and they play a vital part in caring for people when they need it most.”
Anna Ross, Lottery Manager said: “Money is always tight in the New Year so it’s really nice that we have been able to give something back to one of our supporters. We launched our Local Lotto at the end of August 2009 and so far we have 2250 members and have made 22 people richer by £1,000. It only costs £1 per week to enter the draw but you can buy as many entries as you like, it’s such a simple but fun way to support your local Hospice and you might even be a winner!”
