What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a simple government scheme which allows us to increase the value of your donation (cash or goods) at no extra cost to you. For every pound you give us we can get an extra 25 pence from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), helping your donation go further to help support people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Why is it so important to us?
At St Peter’s Hospice we need to do everything possible to raise the £6 million we need every year to provide the care and support so urgently needed.
Last year (2010/11) we raised an amazing £450,000 through the Gift Aid scheme, thanks to donors signing up.
The £450,000 raised last year will help us provide 24 hour Hospice at Home care to around 250 people who wish to spend the last weeks of their life in their own home.
